NIDA  FAZLI'S   PHILOSOPHICAL   ELOQUENCE
( being discovered after his passing away )



             I 'VE COME PRETTY LATE TO URDU  SHAIYIRI BUT WHATEVER LITTLE I KNOW HAS MADE ME APPRECIATE IT MORE AND MORE.    I  ABSOLUTELY  LOVE NIDA FAZLI.  Here's a great one by him :-

“Safar mein dhoop to hogi jo chal sako to chalo,
Sabhi hain bheed mein…. tum bhi nikal sako to chalo,

Kisi ke vaasate raahein kahaan badalati hain,
Tum apne aap ko khud hi badal sako to chalo,

Yahaan kisi ko koi raasta nahin deta,
Mujhe giraake agar tum sambhal sako to chalo.”

“Yahi hai zindagi, kuchh khwab, kuchh chand ummeedain;

 Inhi khilonon se tum bhi bahal sako to chalo.”

 

As they say, a shayar like an author is discovered after he is dead.  Recently , something of this sort happened when   N Modi was seen sharing Nida Fazli's poetry in Parliament  of course with some purpose. Goes to show how profound was Nida Fazli and how with economy of words he was capable of revealing the depths of philosophy eloquently and of course , brilliantly.
